Linda Stahnke was the founder and driving force in establishing Rocky Mountain
Classical Academy, a public charter school with
a focus on high academic excellence, character education, and parent involvement.
She served as the Executive Director for 3 years serving over
680 students and their families. Her responsibilities included overall school administration and development
of multiple campuses.
|
Linda homeschooled their 5 children for 16 years, with all five
graduating from her program. She also taught 3 years teaching
in private schools and charter schools, and has spent 18 years
in community activism, media work, and legislative journalism.
She has provided leadership for several organizations including
Colorado Springs Homeschool Support Group, Monument Academy
Homeschool Connection, Society for Independent Teachers and
Parents, and Colorado Club for Growth.

Her work in promoting homeschooling has reached into many states
through the publishing of Pikes Peak Library
District’s Homeschooling 101,
and several other video series. Linda has appeared on many
radio and TV programs, including On the Carpet
with Chuck Baker (KVOR radio),
The Newshour with Jim Lehrer,
and Focus on the Family,
and has been featured by the local newspaper as a “Woman of
Influence.”

Linda has an
Associates Degree in Biblical Studies, a graduate of
the Colorado Leadership Program of the Rockies, and is a
Certified Construction Project Manager. She has led numerous women’s
Bible studies and served on the board of women’s ministries at
their church.
She and her husband, George, have been married 33 years, have
5 children and 13 grandchildren. |
